Best Golf in North Myrtle Beach

1. Azalea Sands

Located perfectly in central North Myrtle Beach, the course at Azalea Sands Golf Club was built in 1972 and designed by golf course architect Gene Hamm. Though the course is currently undergoing some renovations to the clubhouse and other amenities, Azalea Sands offers one of the most affordable options for a day on the fairways. This par 72, 18-hole course is 6902 yards long with a 123 slope rating. Golf carts are included with the greens fees at this North Myrtle Beach golf club.

2. Tidewater

Built in 1990 under the direction of golf course architect Ken Tomlinson, Tidewater was rated as the #22 best golf course in South Carolina in 2018. This 18-hole, par 72 course boasts a length of 7044 yards and features a slope rating of 144. With Bermuda grass fairways and Bentgrass greens, the year-round course includes a beautiful layout and peaceful escape for those looking to enjoy a secluded afternoon on the links.

3. Possum Trot

This golf course has offered the public a pleasantly challenging golfing experience since 1968. Designed by Russell Breeden, the course features mostly flat fairways and large greens, flanked by pine and oak trees and picturesque ponds. Possum Trot includes a slope rating of 127, and the course includes 6966 yards of 18-hole play. The course also features a complete indoor-outdoor instructional facility.

4. Barefoot Love

Located in Barefoot Resort and Golf in North Myrtle Beach, the Love course is one of three well-known and beloved golf courses situated along the Grand Strand. Built in 2000 and designed by American professional golfer Davis Love III, this course is both beautiful and challenging. The course stretches 7047 yards with a slope of 139 and features 18 holes of par 72 play. This year-round course features Bermuda grass fairways with Champion Ultra Dwarf grass greens. Barefoot Love is situated within amenities-rich Barefoot Resort, where you’ll find a clubhouse, onsite teaching pro, and golf academy.
